The world-renowned track at Nürburgring is a benchmark for racing success, providing a stern test for performance vehicles from across the globe with its hairpin turns, sweeping curves and steep inclines. The All-New 2023 Corvette Z06 took on the Ring and has blurred the lines between competition-ready race car and world-class street car.

Chevy Drops New 2023 Corvette Z06 Promo Titled 'The World': Video

By Sam McEachern on January 18, 2022

General Motors uploaded a five-minute promotional video for the upcoming 2023 Corvette Z06 to its YouTube channel this week entitled 'The World'.

While this promo video was only uploaded to the Chevy YouTube channel this week, it's essentially just a shorter, re-edited version of the cinematic debut video the automaker put together for the global debut of the 2023 Corvette Z06. While that debut video was informative and entertaining, it was also nearly 30 minutes long, so some time-pressed Chevy fans may not have seen some of the more relevant clips from it. As such, this edited version includes all the best parts of the cinematic debut in a more easy-to-watch and digestible five-minute format.

This video mainly focuses on the real-world development of the 2023 Corvette Z06 – the majority of which occurred at the 12.9-mile, 73-turn Nordschleife circuit at the Nurburgring in Germany. Chevy says this world-renowned track "is a benchmark for racing success, providing a stern test for performance vehicles from across the globe with its hairpin turns, sweeping curves and steep inclines." Chevy also brought out some of its fastest and most knowledgable test drivers to help with the on-track portion of the Z06's development, including former Corvette Racing driver Oliver Gavin and lead development engineer Aaron Link.

Track time was especially important during the Corvette Z06's development, as this car blurs the line between production car and Corvette Racing's own purpose-built C8.R race car. Just like the C8.R, the roadgoing Z06 features the same naturally aspirated 5.5L LT6 V8 engine, along with an available large rear wing and front dive planes. Chevy also used lessons learned in the development of the C8.R, which has now won back-to-back championships in the IMSA series, to improve the handling and dynamics of the Z06 road car.

Production of the 2023 Corvette Z06 will commence later this year at the GM Bowling Green Assembly plant in Kentucky. In the meantime, check out the video embedded below to learn a bit more about the supercar's development.
